Assumes responsibility for all overall strategic leadership, vision and direction setting of Hospice of Siouxland and Siouxland Palliative Care to advance hospice and palliative care services in conjunction with health system. Provides leadership support for organization effectiveness in meeting the mission, vision and values. The responsibilities include: organization planning and budgeting; fiscal responsibility in utilization of resources; fostering an environment and culture for employee satisfaction; maintaining community and physician relations; assuring organization compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; maintaining knowledge of industry trends and environmental factors that may impact hospice and palliative care services Assures ethical clinical and business practice. Assures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards for hospice. Through collaboration, partnership, community education, advances the mission of hospice and palliative care services. Adheres to the principles of Service Care Standards and the philosophy and mission of Hospice in all aspects of job performance.
Must have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or equivalent work experience; master’s degree preferred. Five years managerial experience strongly preferred. Requires a minimum of three years home health/hospice or related experience. Demonstrated budgeting, financial and analytical experience required. Must demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills along with ability to communicate effectively with all members of the health care team. An understanding and commitment to the philosophy, mission and vision of Hospice of Siouxland is required.
Hospice of Siouxland seeks licensed/certified therapists to provide the following complimentary therapies to patients of Hospice of Siouxland. These will be contracted positions in our tri-state service area. Therapist must have their own pet/equipment to provide therapy services.
Provides a variety of social work services which include patient/family counseling, networking of available resources, and aligning them with the appropriate services to provide a continuum of care. Requires a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or counseling or related experience. Master’s degree with major course work in social work, psychology, or counseling preferred. Clinical experience of skills relevant to grief and/or loss preferred. Must communicate effectively with all members of the health care team. Basic computer skills necessary.
Hospice of Siouxland provides hospice care to our patients 24/7 and is in need of registered nurses who can work nights and weekends. We are open to part-time, full-time or contingent schedules. Hospice care focuses on bringing comfort, self-respect and quality of life to people in the final months of life. Patients’ symptoms and pain are controlled, goals of care are discussed and emotional needs are supported. Hospice believes that the end of life is not a medical experience, it is a human experience that benefits from the expert medical and holistic support that hospice offers.
We would like to talk to you if you have an interest in providing end-of-life care to our patients in their time of need. You need strong clinical and communication skills. Current RN license and 1+ years of clinical experience in acute care setting or equivalent experience required (additional experience in hospice, homecare or oncology beneficial).
