Hospice of Siouxland (locally owned by Mercy Medical Center-Sioux City and Unity Point-St. Lukes), is proud to announce Ann Myers as the Director of Hospice of Siouxland.
Ann has been a lifelong resident of Sioux City and has over 30 years of experience in the medical field with expertise in the areas of home health, long term care facilities and with hospice and palliative care services.
Ann graduated from Briar Cliff College and Creighton University. She worked as an RN for Mercy Homecare 10 years and then, with her husband Dan, managed long term care facilities in Iowa and Nebraska. They have five grown children and 4grandchildren.
As the Director of Hospice of Siouxland, Ann is excited to work with a great team of over 100 nurses, social workers, ancillary staff and volunteers. Hospice and Palliative Care services assist families “early on” whether their loved one is at home or in a care facility. They help to coordinate their care and provide medical assistance in helping to manage their symptoms and to keep them pain free. “I want to educate the community about calling early to get assistance in caring for a loved one,” says Ann. “It’s important that the needs and wishes of their loved one be met, and we assist the family to help alleviate the stress that goes along with being a caregiver.” Hospice services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most insurances.
