Sioux City, Iowa (ABC9 News) – It turned out to be great day for one of Sioux City’s largest Memorial Golf events.
The 15th Annual Carrie Mach Memorial Tournament Teed up at Whispering Creek Friday Afternoon. “It means a whole lot even talking about it now,” said Jerry Riecks who is playing in this years event. “It means a lot to Rick. He still has a loss there that’s trying to be filled and this helps a lot.”
Carrie Mach died of cancer Dec. 7, 2000 at the age of 17. She faced her battle with courage, using compassion to teach others about the real meaning of life. Her mission was to reach out to others who needed help.
The Carrie Mach Memorial Golf Outing continues Carrie’s mission of helping others and making a difference in the lives of Siouxland Cancer patients and their families.
Three charitable institutions benefit from the proceeds of this golf outing. They are Hospice of Siouxland, the June E. Nylen Cancer Center and Mercy Medical Center.
