Hospice of Siouxland will offer afternoon training sessions in April for volunteers. Dates for the classes are April 15, 18, 22, and 25. The classes will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Hospice of Siouxland office, located at 4300 Hamilton Blvd. in Sioux City.
As a Hospice volunteer, you can change a life, maybe even your own. Volunteers are key members of our team that help adults and children deal with illness, grief, and loss.
There are many different ways that you can choose to volunteer, and each of them is important. Whether you choose to interact with patients and families, or work in the office helping with clerical tasks, your time can help make a difference in someone’s life.
Adults of any age are welcome to volunteer, as well as high school and college students, or youth and adult groups. Training will vary depending on your interests and level of involvement. All volunteers are offered a basic 12-hour training, and although not everyone will be required to take it, all are invited to do so.
